How did America elect George W. Bush?

He cut taxes. Many many Republicans are so amazingly completely stupid that they don't notice that he INCREASED SPENDING, and we have to pay interest on his bills forever. You left something important out of your question. W Bush and his Republican Congress ped a liberal prescription drug benefit for seniors and didn't pay for that either. The point is that W Bush was indeed a bigger spender than moderate liberal Bill Clinton, but stupid people don't care. He cut taxes, so nothing else matters to the truly stupid.
