What is the "special relationship" between Britain and America?

hi im in the British Army and have served with the US army in Various operations this special relationship is not special at all lets be completely Honest about everything shall we, your right that we have a lot in common, and yes we brits know what Hollywood is before anyone else says otherwise (dumb ***) but the term special relationship was first used during WW2 and for some reason its a term that as stuck i think more by media then anything else, the uk Parliament turns away from the term now and Some US congress members have been quoted as saying whats so special about the UK, we do however have a strong alliance but just has strong as the australians south korea and many other nations, as for "shared values of justice and freedom and history that's true to a certain existent as are history is intertwined especially the past 100 years, read into it what you will but its just we have a very strong Alliance and probably a sheared mistrust of Europe especially France and Germany
