How many people think the King James Bible is written in Old English?
The King James Version of the Holy Bible is unendingly beautifully written. Of course it isn't 'old' English, it's quite modern English that was given life by several dozen of the best London writers during the reign of a Scotsman, James I, the son of Queen Mary of Scotland and a chap whose inkling for his own species was, and still is, wildly known. In short, Fundy s, he was gay. But to the point, and vastly more important, the great London playwrights and poets whose pens were put to use, did the Protestant arm of Christianity a tremendous favor. If it were 'Old English,' it would be virtually unreadable today.
