What is the deeper meaning of the truth that the veil was rent from the top to the bottom...?

The split is a symbol of the divide between the early church and Christianity. In the Acts the Christians are praying in the temple and then meeting for eucharist among themselves. After the destruction of the temple, Christians were no longer welcome in the synagogues. The Christians were seen as heretics and the chance of reconciliation become more and more remote.
