Is 'social reality' a far more intense and complex phenomenon for some more than others?

Too many try to just do whatever their ignment is, rather than learn the entire course. Sometimes it results in them leaving school with a decent grade, very minimal book smarts and no wisdom. In time at least common sense may come. The 'go with the flow' attitude or way of being is far too prevalent in high school, college, uni, etc.
